Next Gen Crypto Games: Chibi Fighters

This might be my next new favorite game, and it's made with crypto! In my opinion, a much more appealing game than a silly-face cat... Boys will be boys, I'm talking about Chibi Fighters!

Chibis are cute Warriors on the Ethereum Blockchain (a non-fungible ERC721 token). They come in all shapes and forms. 

Using cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology for gaming might be the future niche for massive investment attraction. Since Bitcoin started to being used by online casinos, a lot of people are talking about the future of gaming and the possibilities for new business models thanks to a crypto economy embedded to it. Now I feel that is more in the other way, how online games and dapps might change the crypto environment. With games like Chibi Fighters we see the use of story-rich collectible figure game can turn out to be a successful idea in the post ICO-fever era.

In words of its creator, Garry Runke, this is the story:

Chibis live on this magical, mystical island. There is the Glass Pool in which new Chibis seem to be born, right next to the Great Crystal Cave in which the Prime Sage Mizuchi lives. He granted Kami Kojiki the power to bring balance to the island torn by war, battles.

So lets say it is playing with money, literally, but masked as a fun game with cool aesthetics and fights! This type of games with fantastic creatures, kingdoms, knights and company, are very popular among all ages and platforms. Due to the proof of concept made by CryptoKitties many projects can be more creative, add some necessary features to keep the game alive and you potentially have a multi million dollar market just waiting for you.

The interesting thing about Chibi Fighters, now during the crowdsale only, is that you get an special class, Founder Chibis or Gen0, which is a super special feature as these you can breed with others to "produce" more of them. Something like "mining" the Chibis. As Garry explains:

Gen0 Chibis can be bought with Ether. They will cost about 0.1 ETH and only 30 different models are available. They come with different facial expressions and weapons, so technically add up to about 1000 different models. The only benefit you get is that they have clean DNAs, no additional generation based cooldowns. We much rather want people to fuse Chibis, that will allow for more player to player interaction and the Chibis look way more random. Technically around 2.3 billion variations are possible.

I hope this becomes a great game, the concept is good and aims to be something more playable than previous pioneers. The sale of the Founder Chibis will go until April 30th 2018. After the sale is over we will be able to gain access to the game, and the features that these crypto fighters promise to have.
