Retro game in 80-90x
Hello Steemit ♨😉
This post does not pretend to some sort of systematization of old games. Just one screenshot of those games that I remember. And yes, the platform is only PC, otherwise the post would turn out to be too immense).
.
SimCity You build, you know, you build ... And here on you - all the nonsense! )
.
Pac-Man - this is a real classic, not to know which is simply shameful. Kolokob Pakkmen travels through the labyrinths, collecting luminous points and bonuses. Behind him chase four ghosts. Collected all the points and bonuses, ran away from the ghosts - go to the next level. Altogether there are 256 levels in the game, although it was planned that it will be infinite (after the 255th level the player had to fall back on the first). Due to a mistake programmers pass the 256th level was impossible.
.
Panzer General - Turn-based strategy of 1994, dedicated to World War II. The game is played for the Wehrmacht (the other side is represented in one of the sequels, Allied General) - it is required to go through all the main campaigns of the European and African theater of operations, plus several fictional (landing in England and America). By the complexity, as well as the accuracy of reproduction of military-historical reality (parameters of certain types of weapons and the alignment of forces), the game is not obsolete at all. Separately it is worth mentioning the design: buttons and panels for brass and mahogany, in the aesthetics of Soviet "red rooms" with military units.
.
The Settlers - German strategy of 1994. The main task of the player is to organize his own natural economy of the medieval type. Lumberjacks cut the forest, foresters plant it; to get bread, you need to sow the field, collect the ears, carry them (preferably on donkeys) to the mill, and then - flour in the bakery. Miners must mine iron and gold, and smiths must make them for weapons. The crown of the whole economy is knights, exciting foreign castles - but, unlike Warcraft, the war plays a completely marginal role, and all the time the player is engaged in the organization of roads, the elimination of traffic jams, the distribution of resources and workers of different professions.
.
Super Mario is a video game released in 1985 by Nintendo. It is included in the "Guinness Book of Records" as the best-selling game in history. After the fall in sales of "Mario Bros.", released in 1983, the appearance of "Super Mario Bros." allowed them to quickly return to their previous level.
The protagonist of the game, Mario, became the symbol of the company Nintendo and one of the most famous fictional characters in the world [1], and the game itself in 2005 was recognized by the IGN site as the "best game of all time".
.
Command & Conquer - a series of successful computer games in the real-time strategy genre, created by Westwood Studios. The forerunner of the series is the game Dune II, which contributed to the development of ideas for the creation of the series (resource collection, construction of the base without the participation of special units).
.
The Chaos Engine (Soldiers Of Fortune) is the name of the game for the European market, developed by the British company The Bitmap Brothers and published by Renegade Software in 1993. The version for North America came out as the name "Holders of Fortune". The game has a sequel called The Chaos Engine 2, released in 1996. It was first released for the Commodore Amiga, with the version available for AGA Amigas, and then ported to MS-DOS, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari ST, Amiga CD32, RISC OS and Sega Mega Drive platforms. In versions for SNES and Sega, the character Preacher was deleted and renamed to the Scientist. The US version of these two ports, the game was renamed the Soldiers of Fortune. In 2014, a remake of the game was released on the PC, which received mixed reviews on Steam.
