The second coming of CryptoKitties

The pedigree blockchain game, the godfather that started it all, Cryptokitties has been quielty chugging along for a couple of months now since it's huge bubble back in December. However, with some recent changes and exciting updates on the horizon, it looks likely that the Kittens are back and so are the big spenders.

New Regions!

With a brand new mobile app on the way for the Chinese market thanks to a partnership with Animoca, a Hong Kong based mobile game studio. Axiom Xen have begun to lead a huge promotional push in the region, and the results are already being seen in game today:

• In a single day, the floor cost for a fast Gen 0 Kitty has risen from 0.35 ETH to 1.2 ETH. This was due to some serious activity from users who seem to have newly arrived from the region. This is all 48 hours before the games' rumored launch date of 16/02 in the region.

Gems!

Alongside this huge increase in activity, the introduction of gems to your kittens profile provides value to kittens once long forgotten:

If your kitten was the first ever to have such a mutation, it will receive a spinning diamond as seen above, and if your kitten is a direct descendant of the 'first' to receive that attribute. It will be shown in it's list of Cattributes:

These Cattribute 'firsts' were already known among the loyal Kitty community, however this is the first time such achievements are truly visible to the average player. This has already led to the first 'Gold' Cattribute kitten to be sold for 8.88 ETH!

These two major updates and more, have given the kittens a second life, and long may it continue. I'm personally re-invested into the game, and look forward to where the next few days take us.
