8 things that maybe you did not know about 8x06 of Game of Thrones
The 8x06 of Game of Thrones has not left anyone indifferent. The end of the biggest television phenomenon of recent years has filled social networks with memes, criticisms and reactions. However, we want to go a little further to bring you what is usually overlooked in the first viewing.
The last chapter of the season has been, like the rest of the series, loaded with details that perhaps we have overlooked. From the head, in which the changes are common, to the conversation of Arya with Jon Snow / Aegon Targaryen, where he tells his plans for the future.
- Changes in the header
Much has changed the iconic Game of Thrones header since its inception, including little by little the details of the plot. In this last chapter there have been two especially striking. The first symbolizes the fall of Cersei Lannister and his overthrow as queen, which is evident with the disappearance of the emblematic lion from the house of Lannisport of the iron throne.
The second patents the destruction caused by Daenerys Targaryen on the back of Drogon, showing a demise of the half-ruined King. The main gate of the city or the map of the courtyard of the castle where Cersei and Jaime meet are some of the areas that are in ruins.
2 . The vision of Daenerys
In the tenth chapter of the second season Daenerys had three visions in the house of the Eternals. In the first of them I saw the throne room covered in snow, with the dome of the room destroyed. What seemed an advance of the victory of the King of the Night, ended up fulfilling as the destruction of the King's Landing, and the snow became ashes. Was the prophecy fulfilled? Almost, since Daenerys does touch the throne in 8x06, which she did not do in her vision, and which confirms her as the true antagonist of the Seven Kingdoms.
3 . The journey of Arya
The traveling restlessness of Arya Stark surprised many, who quickly compared her to Christopher Columbus. However, the young Stark already warned of their intentions in the 6x05. During a conversation with actress Lady Crane, she asks him where he will go. The answer was similar to the one he gives to Jon Snow: "Essos is to the east, and Poniente is to the west, but what is more to the west of Poniente? Nobody knows, I want to see it."
4 . The new Royal Guard
The appointment of Brandon Stark as King of the Six Kingdoms included, of course, the formation of a new government. The council, which includes Bronn or Samwell Tarly, also includes the new Commander of the Royal Guard Brienne de Tarth. Podrick Payne will be next to him, next to the new armor of the Royal Guard. The symbol that decorates the chest of both is but the one that represents Bran the Cripple: a crow, which will be the emblem of the king.
5 . The Lord of the Rings, present in Game of Thrones
It is popular knowledge that the work of J.R.R. Tolkien was one of those who drank George R.R. Martin to write Song of Ice and Fire. Benioff and Weiss seem to have done the same with the adaptations of Peter Jackson, since there are some similarities between both works. Daenerys appearing before his army as Saruman to the Uruk-Hai, Jon Snow saying goodbye to his sisters in a port like Frodo Baggins did of his beloved Sam, Pippin and Merry, or the parallelism between Daenerys' obsession with the throne and the Smeagol / Gollum with the Unique Ring are some of those that we can highlight from the 8x06.
6 . The symbology of Sansa Stark
Sansa Stark's hairstyle and clothing has always been a fundamental point to understand the evolution of the character in every way and her last look as Queen of Winterfell emphasizes that aspect. With a crown and a throne in which the wuargos complement each other, the key is to see the leaves of the famous arciano stamped on their clothes.
7 . The beginning joins the end
As it happens in other so many fictions, finishing an audiovisual as it began is a very repeated premise that we also see in Game of Thrones. There are plans that seem to be traced from the exit beyond the wall of Jon with theirs with what was the first sequence of the series, those three night guards who cross the gate until they meet the first walker.
8 . The heat of Seville
It is not the first time we see an error of this type in Game of Thrones and it is at the hands of Jaime or Daenerys coffee that two bottles of water are now added and the Sevillian heat is to blame. In the scene filmed in Itálica, several actors needed a hydration bonus and slipped by mistake in the final assembly.
