Video: Inside Game of Thrones: A Story in Score

in #gameofthrones7 years ago

Who is Ramin Djawadi?

If you do not recognise the name Ramin Djawadi, you might just recognise one of his most noticeable scores, Game of Thrones! Be sure to watch the video below to hear from Ramin first hand on the scores he chose for the characters of GoT.

Ramin has worked in television with scores for Prison Break, Person of Interest, Westworld and films such as Clash of the Titans, Iron Man, Warcraft and Pacific Rim. He has also scored for the latest title release of video game Gears of War 4.

Thoughts on the sound of GoT

What I found most intriguing from that video was how the use of pianos were never used in the history of GoT up until Episode 610, this subconsciously gave the audience something new, and made them realise something is not right. As it slowly builds in tempo the scenes are ever more dramatic. It's an intelligent piece of composing by Ramin.

It blows my mind that we become so emotionally attached to scenes because of the vision and work of a composer. There imaginations are something that I envy.
