Gamedev blog #1 2/27/18
Well I guess I should introduce my projects! Nothing is not worth sharing. I'll go over projects I have planned over the next couple years as well as the scope of those projects. Over the next few weeks I'll share progress, motivation tips for other gamedevs on steemit, plus some other things sprinkled in there.
Project A
Pixel Casino
So I used (and still do) play casino games with some friends using this game called Tabletop Simulator. It's great! Don't get me wrong, but it kinda sucks right now. So many patches, engine changes, and other features have made the GUI and physics engine laggy and not user-friendly. So, I decided to make a game with a bunch of casino games with multiplayer support. Development has been good so far, and so I think my scope is doing well.
Project Beta
I love metroidvania style games, so while I won't comment to much on what Beta will be, but I will say this:
- Upgrade Based
- Collectables spread throughout the mapoo
- Multiple large world areas to travel throughout
- Subtle story
Project Gamma
The last project is going to be a level based side-scroller story fighter game sort of. I've had ideas about it, but it is far off my scope, so I don't have a lot of details. I think I'm planning to make it magic/RPG-esque
Tip of the post
My tip for you today is not to overscope. I'm sure everyone has heard this day and day again, but it is extremely important. Time is money, and in this case, make sure that you are spending enough time that you can afford, and try to keep a schedule.
That's all, see you next time.
