Game Review / Reseña de Juego - [Fisherman's Bait 3 - PSX]

Well... I'm back, and it's time for another psx game review.

This time about: "Fisherman's Bait 3" , also known in other regions as "Exciting Bass 3" or "Big Ol' Bass 2".

Published by Konami for the Playstation platform in the year 2000. This is the third installment of the Fisherman's Bait series.

Because this is a fishing simulator the game doesn't not really have a backstory, so i will skip to the gameplay instead.

Gameplay:

As i mentioned above,this game is a fishing simulator whose main objetive is to catch all the species of fish available, some specially created for this game. Also, the fishes are clasified by weight, so its better if you caught the bigger ones.

The game contains a kind of enciclopedia feature were you can see the best fishes you managed to catch in terms of species and weight.

There are several modes available in this game, and it's possible to play alone, against the computer, or against another player with a split screen.

In the free fishing mode you can choose between any of the lakes that you have unlocked and try your luck to see what you can catch without restrictions.

In the competitive modes such as tournament and world monster fishing. You have to meet certain requirements to complete a round, that requirement usually is to catch the specified quantity of fish in the lake were you are playing at. Each lake has a main target and two secondary targets that you have to catch in order to complete a competitive round.

Also, in tournament mode you can choose between 8 different characters that the game offers and play against the computer or a friend using a elimination format.

In tournament mode you can change the conditions to win. Those conditions could be, who catches fishes faster, who catches the biggest fish, or who can catch a specific specie of fish first.

You can also use different types of lures to attract the attention of different species of fishes.

This may not be your usual type of game, i was skeptical at first too, thinking " Eww...A fishing game sounds really boring", but after playing it for 20 minutes i was obsessed and was trying my hardest to catch all those fishes.

Years ago when i played this game for the first time i managed to convince my friends to try it, and they also found that they liked it.

So, when we wanted a change of rhythm, instead of playing our regular fighting and racing games, we played this, and sometimes our competitions turned out to be pretty intense because nobody wanted to lose, even on a fishing game haha.

Esta vez acerca de: "Fisherman's Bait 3", también conocido en otras regiones como "Exciting Bass 3" o "Big Ol 'Bass 2".

Publicado por Konami para la plataforma Playstation en el año 2000. Esta es la tercera entrega de la serie Fisherman's Bait.

Debido a que este es un simulador de pesca, el juego realmente no tiene una historia de fondo, así que en vez de eso saltare hacia la jugabilidad.

Jugabilidad:

Como mencioné anteriormente, este juego es un simulador de pesca cuyo principal objetivo es capturar todas las especies de peces disponibles, algunas especialmente creadas para este juego. También, los peces se clasifican por peso, por lo que es mejor si atrapas los más grandes.

El juego contiene una especie de función de enciclopedia donde puedes ver los mejores peces que lograste atrapar en términos de especie y peso.

Hay varios modos disponibles en este juego, y es posible jugar solo, contra la computadora o contra otro jugador con una pantalla dividida.

En el modo de pesca libre, puedes elegir entre cualquiera de los lagos que has desbloqueado y probar suerte para ver lo que puedes atrapar sin restricciones.

En los modos competitivos como torneo y pesca mundial de monstruos. Debes cumplir con ciertos requisitos para completar una ronda, ese requisito generalmente es capturar la cantidad especificada de peces en el lago donde estas jugando. Cada lago tiene un objetivo principal y dos objetivos secundarios que debes atrapar para completar una ronda competitiva.

Además, en modo torneo, puedes elegir entre 8 personajes diferentes que el juego ofrece y jugar contra la computadora o un amigo usando un formato de eliminación.

En el modo torneo, puedes cambiar las condiciones para ganar. Esas condiciones podrían ser: quién captura peces más rápido, quién captura el pez más grande o quién puede atrapar una especie específica de pescado primero.

También puedes usar diferentes tipos de señuelos para atraer la atención de diferentes especies de peces.

Puede que este no sea tu tipo de juego habitual, también fui escéptico al principio, pensando "Eww ... Un juego de pesca suena realmente aburrido", pero después de jugarlo durante 20 minutos estaba obsesionado e intentaba con todas mis fuerzas atrapar a todos aquellos peces.

Hace años, cuando jugué este juego por primera vez, logré convencer a mis amigos para que lo probaran, y también descubrieron que les gustaba.

Entonces, cuando queríamos un cambio de ritmo, en lugar de jugar nuestros juegos regulares de pelea y carreras, jugábamos a esto, y algunas veces nuestras competiciones resultaban bastante intensas porque nadie quería perder, incluso en un juego de pesca jaja.
