What did I miss
I finally got a few hours of sleep more than I normally get and it feels weird. I feel lazy. Since childhood I have felt that sleep takes away from life in some way, that while dreaming, I might miss out on something important even though not much of consequence is likely to happen in 8 hours.
Maybe this is compounded by the internet and global perspectives as in the past, nothing happened because everyone at the local level was asleep at the same time. Now, people are always awake somewhere, doing something worth hearing about.
I have read a couple of articles this morning about the large social sites shutting down accounts of political dissidents and Steem has been mentioned as a possible alternative. Of course it is but does becoming the home of social outcasts constitute mainstream adoption? I don't think so.
But, it is a step. Just like early adopters see opportunity in the technology, some are here because they have nowhere else to go. This trickle can turn into a flood rapidly the more people recognise that the centralized platforms that have promised to keep then up to date with the world only offer a narrow slice of what is actually going on.
What will really drive the mainstream flow is when people realise that what has been hidden from them isn't just information, it is the chance to actually benefit personally from adding to the conversation.
Many know that their interactions are being leveraged to create wealth. What they don't know is that they can be part of the profit sharing, that the value of their information can provide them an income. Steem simplifies this process, makes it transparent and easy for anyone to not only join conversations but tangibly reward and support interest areas directly.
Given development and distribution and centralized platforms have very little chance of keeping up as their economic models require masses of funding to be pulled into a tight point. They are upward value funnel models and any overflow is distributed by them, much like a government that collects taxes and uses it to fund what the public do not need or want.
Steem is on the cusp of discovery, it is just a matter of time until the right compound of events and needs form to cause a chain reaction drive into crypto and, into content platforms that sort it. We can see it aligning already in the economy, the media and society and once that critical junction is met, the flood gates open.
We don't need to force mainstreaming of Steem, we just need to build the tools that will be required and have a community ready when it happens.

From my neck of the woods we have an acronym, "FOMO", which means the FEAR OF MISSING OUT. It sounds like you have a bad case og FOMO. Sleep is overrated. There will be plenty of time to sleep down the road. There are some many differents events that may trigger mass adoption of Steemit. It is the perfect platform of choice to express one's point of view, post intriguing content about personal interests, share experiences, or just touch base with people with interests similar to yours. The events that will trigger Steemit's success are building all the time. As this platform of social media continues to grow I feel that the stars are the limit.
Although I do not always agree with the point of view of other people's posts, I love hearing another perspective. I have been made aware of many social issues which I knew very little about through Steemit.
As more of the bugs are worked out by the people at the top, mass adoption should follow.
I do have FOMO. There is way too many interesting things to do in this world which is why I avoid most non-value adding consumptive habits.
This has a value feedback loop as it returns to question and adjust our own views. Sometimes it weakens and sometimes strengthens our convictions. It is a pretty cool place in my opinion if one is willing to be a part of it.
We are never to old to learn.

Have a great day!
What you mean is you had a decent night's sleep or at least close to that. You should try that more often.
Lol. Yeah I guess that is what it could be called. Feels weird. ;)
Sometimes one gets inspired in the wee hours of the morning☺
That is actually about the only time I am inspired I think. I create the best when everyone else is sleeping.
My dad used wake up at two or three in the morning and in the stillness; got his best ideas. He used to get up and write them down for reference, for a later date, when he needed them. I also like working on my Steemit art, at that time too!
Greetings, @tarazkp. Stop playing with your pineal gland. Unless you found a providor of NZT-48, you should not be overloding your brain with info.
I shut down once in while, and it does feel weird. It takes some time to catch up with a working rythm.
Regarding your post, I think that it is a good thing that many people are starting to migrate to decentralized platforms due to cersorship in mainstream media. Hopefully, if those coming are high profile/popular they will bring their followers with them and re-envigorate Steemit.
I know many people here avoid politics at all cost, but they want a better world and they want changes. It's a paradox that may be turned around if we have more constructive political conversations circulating at a higher volume.
The problem with politics is that it is adversarial, not necessarily constructive. Rather than find what is the best thing to do it is about choosing between a selection of far from perfect solutions, often on an emotional scale rather than an analytical one.
You are right. Yet, if we get here people who are running away, from intolerance, they may want to promote a tolerant environment. I want to think that if we are going along with the idealistic concept of decentralized economy and circulation of ideas, we may have some room for the possibility of a different way of doing politics. Maybe the very economic incentive derived from people's effectiveness connecting to the highest possible number of users may help.
I am also catching up after waking up later than usual and now need almost an hour to get through the posts that I never want to miss given the value they add to the community. I can’t help notice these facts of censorship as well and being from a country that promotes “free speech” it disturbs me but also shows me the value of what our ecosystem is creating.
Well, not all is well on the Steemit platform too. If you do something someone else does not like, if they have enough SP, they can damage you. Also all these special interest bots are pushing someones agenda. I'm lucky to have only had one attack against me. The reason was that I had upvoted someone that the other person did not like, nothing more.
So people have no 100% freedom here. Still it's a pretty good alternative vs the traditional centralized social media.
Great Article! Thanks for Sharing your thoughts. I agree and resonate with it.
BTW I was told, that sleeping long, not want to wakeup is a sign of a strong connection to the dream World. A view sessions Ayahuasca could help to understand it. Just a possibility and sharing personal experience about it. Because I exactly know what you talking about it.
You create value and people will be attracted to it, that is where steem should go.
Most folks don't know what Steem is. In fact they have never heard of it. Yet I believe steem is a wealth of opportunity...a gift to all waiting to be opened or discovered. With the different aspects of steem it makes other models obsolete. Thanks @tarazkp
As people grow up. They used to get less sleep which ultimately effect them @tarazkp have some rest from the world
