Little changed at the top of the WA State Futsal League as Fremantle continued their much to a third straight SFL title, dispatching the Murdoch Warriors 6-0 .

While Fremantle cruised to victory, their Brazilian superstar Danilo Neves picked up a nasty knee injury and may be out of action for the next few months after clashing heavily with Murdoch youngster Meysam early on in the match.

Friday's late game saw Cockburn move into second place on the WA State Futsal League table with a narrow 2-1 victory over relegation threatened South Perth, who have still only managed one win from their first eight games of their first SFL campaign. Despite having a talented squad, they perhaps lack the direction of some of the more seasoned teams in the premier division.

Cockburn look set to play finals for the first time in their short history, steadied by former SFL winner Alek Kukic, they could be a real threat for their first ever SFL crown if they can maintain this kind of winning form.

Saturday's livestream action saw the Canning Ultra Tiger's cause a big upset, taking out Claremont Cambio Cumbre 5-3 in a heated affair that came to life early when SFL newcomer Graham Dixon beat Rain Blauberg to give the Tigers the early ascendancy. Cumbre were able to level the game midway through the second half, but with scores locked at 3-3, Josh Marr fired home and awkward bobbling ball from distance before the flagrant Frenchman Yohann Crampon sealed the points with 28 seconds remaining. Cumbre drop to third on the Pro Futsal WA State Futsal League table, while the Tigers gap 7th and 8th place by 4 points to try and distance themselves from the relegation battled South Perth and Murdoch Warriors.

The final match of Round 8 was another close encounter as Stirling, without superstar playmaker Victor Brauner managed a 5-3 win over Spearwood, to climb their way back in to the top four for the second time this season. The Spearwood Lions now have the Canning Tigers hot on their heels, as we head into round 9 next week.
