The last thing i want to do is get in an argument about time. BUT if you want to try an experiment go to a post 14 minutes old and wait to vote at 15 minutes. That will be one of the longest minutes of your life! :)

The thing is if you aren't a whale, I don't think you actually lose out on the curating value. Only your share of 25 percent on your own upvote and the other guys that voted early. So not much is lost but you gain ...
