PROJECT LAB: Setting Up A Science Laboratory For our School (Update #6)

It is really nice to see how my dreams for our children in school are slowly coming true.

Of course, this will not be made possible without the good help from @fundition, the hard-working team behind it as well as the good samaritans I have met in #steemit such as @pennsif (@adollaraday), @henry-gant and all others who have supported me since Day 1. I may not be able to mention all of you, but please know that your generosity is highly appreciated. Because of you, the pupils of San Miguel Central School here in the Philippines were able to experience hands-on experiments. Again, thank you so much especially to @fundition for supporting my PROJECT LAB.

What is Project LAB?

Project LAB aims to raise enough funds to set up Science Laboratory in San Miguel Central School, San Miguel, Leyte, Philippines. It has a goal of providing the class with the necessary equipment to achieve better learning among the pupils. Laboratory activities are necessary to provide hands-on experiences with the learners, thus making their learning much more fun and meaningful.

Today, I am so happy to share with you that our pupils have already started using the equipment I was able to buy through @fundition.

As I have said, the equipment will not only be used by my class but by all Science classes in our school. I will always let my co-science teachers borrow the said equipment because I know how hard it is to teach concepts to pupils without the necessary tools. We are just having sort of agreement as to when and who will borrow and use for the day.

As you can see, children are able to experience doing experimentation by themselves. For this, we are truly grateful. It was actually their first time to have their hands-on experiments using real equipment due to lack of materials. But now, we are starting to make a difference even just with small things like this which I know would have big impacts on the part of the children. This would make them always look forward to learning more everyday in Science.

Now, let me show you the computer room which I will be using soon. There will be an additional teacher in Grade Four since my enrolment keeps on increasing. That is why I will be transferred to another classroom. At first, I really thought the classroom would be in a good condition because it was actually one of the newest buildings given to our school. But when I checked earlier, this is how the classroom looked like. (I don't usually go from one room to another in school so I really don't know the condition of all the classrooms in our place.)

(These computers, tables and chairs will be transferred to the new e-classroom so basically nothing would be left inside this classroom when I move in. 😭)

That's my first problem. No chairs, no working tables yet for my class.

But that's not all..

(This classroom is supposed to be in good shape because this was newly built. Maybe the materials used were really substandard. I don't know. 😢😢)

That's another problem which should be taken care of before I move in. (#feeling hopeful)

Anyway, this classroom is way better than my current classroom so I am still okay with it. Plus, I will have this big brand new television. Yey!

This would really be a big help to me and my children. My old television which I use for video-aided instructions is really so small.

I really hope I will be able to finish this project before I move in.

MATERIALS THAT I STILL NEED:

Microscope (P6500)

2 pcs Iron Stand which costs P 318 each (no stocks available yet)

2 pcs Iron Ring which costs P 195 each (no stocks available yet)

Then lastly, I badly need WORKING TABLES for my kids. I need 4 working tables since I usually group my pupils into four.

Again, I still have some money left from my previous transaction in the amount of P 3821.75. This will be used to buy some materials needed for my working tables. But this will not be enough yet. I also have some Steem left plus another donation given by @naturicia.

I really hope more steemians will lend their helping hands and support me.
