The Funeral...
Funeral comes from the Latin root fūnus, for "dead body," and so a funeral is the ritual that surrounds taking care of a dead body. Depending on the dead person's beliefs, there will often be a representative of a religion there to honor them in a traditional way. Link
John was a good man.
He was one the leaders of the community, so devout and truthful.
He helped people in the community in securing a place to stay and helped provide anything necessary they would need.
This attitude helped John relate closing with those around him, and he was loved by all.
This was the more reason why folks were shocked when they heard John was dead, they wondered why a good man will die, it's unfair they all said.
When we asked what happened, they said John came back from work, went to sleep and never woke up.
Friends and family came for his funeral.
A lot of emotion flowed through the funeral service, but it was a best way people knew how to pay their last respect to the fallen.
The Funeral helped remember "memento Mori".
Thank you for your time...
I've been reading your writing for a while. You have talent, but I think the fear of the blank page keeps you writing little stories. They're not bad. But I'd like to see your full potential in a two-page story.
This story is well done. Especially because it's fluid, visual and you gave it a three hundred and sixty degree twist in the resolution of the plot. That's great. I'm not one for letting the reader know from the first paragraph what's going to happen. Keep writing.
Thanks for the feedback.
I do mostly short stories because these days the attention span of most people is not long. They are easily distracted when reading something long, most of them just want to get to the good stuff.
Which is why I write them long once in a while.
It's true the attention spam is short and everyone is multitasking, still we may expect from this platform, especially the free writers, they like to read.
A good weekend!

Thanks. Sure
Writing very short stories, 50 words or 140 characters and so on, we frequently did on Steemit. It's far from easy. The same counts for writing for 5 minutes without a break.
No one joining the 2 #we-write courses was able to do it.
