Some Tragic Outcomes Are Not Accidents

in Freewriters2 days ago

We were talking, @wakeupkitty and I, about what society actually does for the vulnerable, especially the children.

Or, more precisely, what it never does.

All we hear are worthless platitudes. And those paid to do their job – where the hell were they?

What were they doing when all we saw were kids dying, murdered, because no one helped them? No one f*cking does. But then, when tragedy strikes, suddenly everyone wants to perform, to pretend to be good, offering empty sympathy.

What the f*ck?

Does all this performative theater bring back those innocent lives?

So many have perished, so many have been ruined. And many have survived. They survived, not because they received help, but because they simply endured on their own.

Some of us here can speak to that; we can attest to how people ignored us, walked away.

For someone like me, it breaks my heart and has drained my eyes of tears. This is speaking straight from the heart. It's just so painful to witness all of this.

All those people pretending to be nice, organizing charities for self-promotion, taking pictures for their social media feeds.

Where does all that supposed good actually go? Or is most of that goodness only ever for themselves? It’s just so disgusting!

What kind of world are we living in?

Why is humanity regressing?

What about the rules for ex-convicts who've harmed others, like pedophiles who must be registered and keep their distance from children?

Why are certain individuals who harm the vulnerable given the power to inflict even more damage? Worse still, what kind of authority devises these arrangements?

When people are paid to do a job, they are supposed to fulfill their duties before they get paid.

What about those in power? What are their duties, exactly? To get paid, collect side benefits, and harm the very people they are sworn to protect?

This is madness. What kind of monumental stupidity is this?

We worried about how this girl could possibly live a new life after her sentencing, but it turns out she never stood a chance.

Now that the victim has committed suicide, we don't even know how many more are out there, ignored by the system and abandoned by society. She was ruined by society.

She may have needed to bear consequences for her actions, but her actions were themselves the direct consequence of what society did to her. There is blood on the hands of everyone involved in this.

Will there ever be any justice for this?

Will the rest of those victims, unable to stand up and expose this depravity, ever be heard?

Will anyone in power ever do anything for them, or will they just die one by one, thanks to some nonsensical decisions others made?

I'm sure the script would flip if it were mandated that these dangerous individuals work near their own families or children. See if they feel it’s okay with that.

F*ck that. I'm sure they wouldn't allow it.

Of course, people deserve second chances if they truly mean to turn over a new leaf.

But there's a proper way to do it. Just not like this.

What was done is like practically putting those children in a shooting range.

It's only a matter of time.

I can tell you many stories about the foster children I had. Not a single problem with me although they were described as monsters. Each one of them was abused.
The only thing I hear when it goes wrong is: We are shocked.
Shocked? What's the point of saying that if you don't give a damn? The only reason I can think of is that is sounds great if you are interviewed.

Since in the highest ranks child abuse and trafficking are found normal there will not chance anything since next to "we are shocked" the most common phrase is: "our hands are tied".

What strikes me most of all is that not once anyone asks or wonders what bme out of the survivors. Many of them have life sentence while the abusers get away with it.

'We are shocked" sounded so hollow.

The problem isn't the child being a monster but it's the abusers. They are the real monsters in this.

The sad fucking reality. In a society with fewer and fewer values, no one seems to care about anything other than their own pockets. We are surrounded by stone hearts and insensitivity.
There is no choice but to denounce this and fill the spaces with works that awaken and shake the guts of those who read them.

Yeah, it's just so cold and cruel.

Masks... Facades... Many hide behind them and, sometimes, some people behind those organizations, behind that system that should provide protection, are simply worse... Maybe they are not the ones who commit the act, but to ignore it and do nothing, when it is within their reach, when it is your duty to do something because its purpose is to provide protection.... What does that make them? In my opinion, that makes them worse, and of course, then comes the little photo, the one they take to look good in the eyes of others... How many times I've seen it.... Something that I have always criticized... it is seen on many scales; it is something that makes it hard to believe in those who claim to be good.

So many actions feel like a performance these days, and it makes it difficult to trust that certain people are genuinely good.

That is why our own judgment is important, as well as trusting our sense of intuition.
