Why do we drink tea out of a tea cup, and coffee from a coffee mug? Is there such a thing as a coffee cup, like a tea cup? Oh, maybe I can answer my own question: I've seen little demitasse cups with saucers, and I think that's for really strong coffee. I often put my tea into a mug, but I don't call any of my mugs "coffee mugs" because I don't drink coffee. They are all just "mugs." Recently I've discovered I actually drink more tea if I use a pretty cup and saucer rather than a mug, even if the mug is also pretty. I think tea actually tastes better in a thin china cup than in a thick pottery mug.

In one or two of my favorite comic strips, there is at least one woman who often has a coffee mug in her hand. In real life, I don't think most people wander around with a coffee mug. It would be too easy to spill it, at least for me. I can think of one person who I've seen at home with a coffee mug in hand. She really likes coffee. I rarely drift through the house carrying a cup of tea, because I'm not fond of cleaning up the mess I'd make.

And that, dear reader, is all I can think of right now to write about coffee mugs. With any luck, the timer is about to go off.

I drink tea in my teavana cup. I love the clear glass for some reason and don't own even one pretty China cup (yet), I can picture you sipping a china cup. Have a wonderful evening.
