His order had been placed 5 minutes ago and he still hadn’t received his iced coffee. There was nothing else he could do instead of just standing by the counter and strolling down his Instagram feed. What a dull moment, he realized, being willingly exposed to so many products people were trying to sell him on social medias. He closed the Apps and put his phone back to his pocket.
Finally his order arrived and he took a sip on the regular plain simple iced coffee. He looked around and found a cozy sofa in the corner of the room to rest his legs. He looked at his cup again, of course, they spelled his name wrong, once again. This time they wrote “Cliff”. Ha! He guessed it was better than “Clay” that he got the other day, or “Klimt” even though that one was creative he would say.
He opened a notebook that he carried around for journaling. The days went by pretty fast with Thanksgiving coming up and soon he had to go home for Christmas and New Year. It came to his mind that this year was coming to an end too fast. So he started journaling again his last few days of this year.
On the first page, it was a recap of his discovery earlier this year when he tried to include as many sports and activities possible into his daily routine schedule. Many of them were fun such as indoor skydiving and virtual room. Then on the second page was about the list he still kept doing. The list went a lot shorter with only two things left: weekend walk in the park and at home yoga. He crossed off tennis, badminton, swimming and also paddle, along with other ambitious plans of doing cross fit, rock climbing and even signing up to Krav Maga. He just couldn’t keep up and after spending 8 hours in from of a computer, all he wanted was to go home and watch Netflix.
So, he went back to square one again as to when he started this journal 11 months ago. He did the same habits and there were not much that have changed. He kept the same desk at the IT department where he worked and he wore the same white sneakers. He was still enjoying the coffee from this place, even though the barista couldn’t spell his name right. By the way, it was actually Clint.

Thanks for an entertaining little tale.
I’ve been trying to change my ways for as long as I can remember and I’m still the same. Maybe it’s about time I gave up.
It’s the Wednesday prompt delivery team here with the challenge for today:
