This will be my eighteenth 5 minute #freewrite here in the Steemiverse. Today's writing prompt is Space and you can find out more here. I have been taking the daily prompts and writing a story, a story about a girl called Matilda and a boy called Mike. Today's freewrite isn't about them. I felt the need to just explore today.

Yes, I want to explore space and see where it takes me. There will be no corrections to this freewrite, no last minute editing. What you will read is what I will write in the most dangerous writing app for the five minutes it allows me. So without further ado...

Space it is all around us.
Above us and below us
It is that gap between my finger
and this keyboard.
It is infinite and yet can be measured.
The space between here and there
is it an inch or a mile?
It is further than that, possibly
maybe it isn't measured imperially
Maybe it is measured metrically
There is a wonder about space
Apparently it is the final frontier,
Or is that this new space
A cyber one where you and I are
linked through a space that at times
is hard to fathom
Space it is something I have around me
all day but I don't think about very often
It is something I hold personally around me
and god forbid you enter into my personal space
too closely.
Then I feel an itch, a discomfort, I feel the energetic
field of space contort.
It's okay for you to enter though, if I have given you permission. Then you are welcome to narrow the space between us. Space.
It is a mystery.
