Playing in the Sand While the Tide Comes In

I'm starting the timer now.

Big Wave

I've never seen a really big wave. I've seen its effects on TV. The awful, stinking flood waters of a tsunami, that reach for miles inland. But the actual wave doesn't get videoed much. Safety reasons mean you have to keep away, I guess.

Small waves, though, I've seen plenty of them. I've sat, as the tide comes in, on the water's edge, waiting for the first little wave to splash me. I've rushed to rescue my things from the incoming tide and a drenching by the salty water. I've used the little waves to clean the sand off my feet when its time to go heme.

Yes, I know the small waves well.
