Somebody tried to "cancel me" again

Someone tried to "cancel" me on TikTok again, and honestly, it just made me laugh.

This time, it was a Latino kid who got upset because I used the words nigga and nigger during a discussion. For context, I’m mixed race and Latino myself. But regardless of my identity, the entire point I was making centered around the concept of hate speech and freedom of speech. I was arguing in defense of people's right to say what they want—even if that speech comes with social consequences. My position was that the concept of hate speech is inherently subjective, and in many cases, it's enforced regionally rather than universally.

Take words like nigger and nigga as examples. Outside of the United States, these terms don't carry the same weight or history. In many Latin American countries, people simply don’t care about the background of those words, and the same goes for much of the African continent. Yet in the U.S., there's this idea that only Black Americans are allowed to use them—even though the term originated from white slave owners and was used in a distinctly American context. Yet, apparently he said that black Africans can say it, even if they're not American because they are black. When you think about it, the logic feels inconsistent.

Americans often try to impose their cultural and linguistic standards on the rest of the world, expecting people everywhere to abide by social rules rooted in a history they neither experienced nor were taught. So, during that discussion, the kid I was debating decided to clip the part where I said those words and posted it in an attempt to get me canceled.

The truth is, he lost the argument, got upset, and resorted to outrage as a last resort. But it doesn’t bother me. I responded in the comment section, letting him know that you can't cancel what isn’t cancelable—especially since most of my income doesn’t come from a traditional job but from cryptocurrency.
