I did not feel what you are trying to get out of this chat here. We have a society where people will not raise up for their own good. Where they will rise only when driven like sheep but not follow their own feelings. Also we are a society which sees things as GOOD and EVIL. It is never the case. Unless the society matures, the tools you brought up as alternative to Taxes will not work.

Do I like being taxed - no. Specially when there are rich people/corporations like Amazon(paid zero taxes for last year in States). But until I have a situation where i can trust my neighbor to pay their share to main utilities/governance - i do not see any way out of it.
