Btw, did you know Steemit.com is blocked in China?
Yet on my way back from SteemFest4, I was able to curate (and IIRC) post during a layover in Shanghai.
Shanghai is barely under the silk curtain, especially if your device is not registered in China.
It's also not blocked in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Yeah, devices could have all kinds of blocking installed.

In Korea and Japan most phones will make a fake shutter noise when taking pictures (to prevent sex perverts from taking candid photos), some phones bought abroad are not affected. It stops on Korean phones when in different countries.
My guess is China doesn't really care what most foreigners are up to. 'Good' Chinese people will ignore them.
