Ubisoft Offers Assassin's Creed IV and World in Conflict for Free

in #free7 years ago (edited)

Ubisoft is marking not one, but two big 10th anniversaries this month and the publisher has decided to celebrate by offering gamers two free games.

The anniversaries are for World in Conflict and Assassin's Creed, both of which had their first game released 10 years ago. From today until 2am PST on December 11, you'll be able to grab a free copy of World in Conflict (https://r.zdbb.net/u/4aj7) and its expansion Soviet Assault completely free. Then, from 6am PST on December 12 through to 2am PST on December 18, you'll be able to grab a copy of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Ubisoft runs its own digital distribution service for games called Uplay, and the free games offer is only being made available through the service. Uplay has a very bad reputation because it used to require players maintain a constant connection to the Internet in order for games to function. That demand has since been relaxed, but only after it rendered some titles unplayable for days.

If you want to grab these free games from Ubisoft you will need to sign up and download Uplay to your PC. Think of it as another Steam, but focused on Ubisoft games. You may never use it for any other games, but Ubisoft will surely attempt to entice future purchases with regular promotional offers.

To grab World in Conflict right now, head on over to Ubisoft's Free Events website.
