If you asked me a year ago, i have hardly ever listened to audiobooks or podcasts. These days, I listed to something everyday on the way to work, on my break. So here's a list of my top free Audio Books websites that I thought you might find interesting!

1 - LIBRIVOX

Librivox is a non-profit initiative to record public domain books and release them as free audiobooks. The site boasts over 10,000 projects, with a diverse set of titles ranging from War and Peace to Leaves of Grass to The Dream of the Red Chamber to Anne of Green Gables.

2 - Scrible (used to be Podiobooks)

Scrible has hundreds of free audio books for every subject you can think of and includes audio books for adults and kids.

At Podiobooks you can download the free audio books directly from the website or receive them like podcasts from an RSS feed. You can browse for them by genre, most recently added, series, or by an alphabetized list of every audio book they have.

You don't need to register to get a free audio book from Scrible but if you do (it's free), you'll get a custom podcast feed that will make enjoying your book a whole lot easier.

3- OverDrive

If your local library has a subscription to OverDrive then this is a great place to find free audio books of recent fiction and non-fiction books, including best-sellers.

You'll check out these audio books just like you would a library book and they'll be returned at the end of the loan period.

Besides free audiobooks, OverDrive also has free ebooks, movies, and music.

4 - LOYAL BOOKS

Loyal Books shares free audiobooks from titles in the public domain. You’ll find options like John Milton’s Paradise Lost and Sir Author Conan Doyle’s The Return of Sherlock Holmes, among others.

You can also submit reviews and read what others have had to say about each of the titles.

There is also Audiobook Boom (or maybe it's Audiobook Blast now?) that will let you apply to get free audiobooks in exchange for a review within 30 days. I've picked up a lot of books from there and discovered some pretty talented narrators.
