Members of Crypto Community Report Company for Fraud

in #fraud7 years ago

Members of the Sia community taken notice of abnormal behavior by "company x" which we will not name for legal purposes.

Company X has been engaged in a massive social media operation to make it appear as if they have a popular following. Company X is a failing company in the crypto world. It does not have the backing of many of its own members and does not have the backing of its current investors.

Company X appeared to defraud their token holders by worrying only about the technology, which has so far lagged behind tremendously and not about token price.

Company X did not put forth a moral obligation to its investors and token holders to maximize profit. Instead, they chose to remain silent and seek new avenues for investment all of which angered their own community.

Company X also has a history of saying one thing and practicing another. We cannot give examples of this at the moment due to what we believe is an organized effort to silence dissent.

So how did the community come to the conclusion that they should report them to all legal bodies pertaining to fraud?

Members noticed that numbers were not adding up. The follower count did not match community support of ideas. When members brought their frustrations forward, they were immediately demonized. They then began noticing abnormal behavior of praise and voting for things only the original founders were aiming for.

Naturally, if there is a high count of followers there will be a significant portion of members asking or saying things which may be at odds with others. However, the proportion of attacks and praise and the quickness of such things led to more digging.

Multiple fake accounts were being created by members; some believe the founders themselves are engaged in this practice. It became apparent that fraudulent activity was being used to falsely portray Company X as if they're a growing business with proper execution.

Quick defense of guilty actions made it apparent that coin holders were being defrauded. Never did they follow through on promises and instead elected to have money be put in their pockets at the expense of token holders.

Members of the community are encouraged to help level the playing field and report fraudulent activity.
