Foundation Phase or Anatomical Adaptation Phase in Modern and old school lifting

As a trainer in the fitness industry, I often get asked how long will it take me to Squat/ Deadlift or Bench Press a certain weight. This is usually a loaded question, so many factors affect the overall strength development of the everyday gym goer or the weekend athlete.

The basics are perhaps the most important, there are many trainers out there attempting to dazzle their clients with the most impressive movements. However, is that what they need in order to get to their goals? Focusing on structural balance, making sure the muscles are firing properly. Mobility may also be an issue, not allowing the trainee to obtain a proper range of motion.or the Vison and Vestibular systems(Balance:Internal Compass) may be off affecting how little or too much information you may be getting.

Each of these particular things will affect the following:
  1. Body composition
  2. Athletic Performance
  3. Weight gain and/ or weight loss
  4. Posture and Biomechanics
  5. Injury Recovery
    6.Lean muscle development

When Planning a sound Foundation program be sure to establish baselines for whatever it is your measuring, and be clear as to how your going to test for improvements. If done correctly you will notice improvements in each of the areas above.
