Spain and Portugal Win, Uruguay advance to round 16 of the 2018 World Cup
Uruguay are making sure to advance to the last 16 of the World Cup 2018 after a Group A match on Wednesday (20/06) beat Saudi Arabia 1-0.
The South American team's winning goal was scored by their star, Luis Suarez.
Suarez has already played 100 times for the Uruguay, this is his 52nd goal in international matches.
Uruguay coach, Oscar Tabarez, said no doubt the contribution of Suarez for the Uruguay team.
"He is a very important player ... he has always been a potentially scoring player," he said
Despite already making sure to qualify for the round of 16, Tabarez said his team must improve the game in order to advance to the next round.
"There are still many things that need to be fixed," said the 71-year-old coach.
Spain
Spanish player Diego Costa scored one goal against Iran in a match in Group B. The game ended 1-0 for Spain.
With these results, Uruguay and Russia survive, while Saudis and Egypt are eliminated.

Iran had scored by Mehdi Taremi, but this goal was disallowed for offside.

Earlier, Portugal also won 1-0 over Morocco thanks to their star header Cristiano Ronaldo early in the first half.
