Barcelona are looking for a quick break to score points when they travel on a difficult visit to the seventh Eibar on Saturday, while Real Madrid, fourth and conscripted from their European win over Paris Saint-Germain, beat Real Betis 8 on Sunday in the 24th round of the Primera Liga.

Barca were offered two surprising draws with Espanyol and Getafe, narrowing the gap with Atletico Madrid chasing Athletic Bilbao (13) to seven points.

The standoff will be the latest preparation for Lionel Messi and his teammates before the firefighters next Tuesday on Chelsea to the Champions League final.

But Barcelona have a clear advantage against Eibar, who is the best player in the league, beating him in their seven league matches, most recently 6-1 in a quarter-final against Messi, the top scorer of 20 goals against Uruguayan Luis Suarez.

Despite being part of a small town in the Basque region with a population of 27,000, Ibar have steady levels in the league, and have won their last two matches against strong Sevilla and Liganes.

Eibar, who lost once in the last 12 games against Atletico Madrid, relies on an uncomplicated style of playing and resorting to counter-attacks and fixed balls.

Barca, the only unbeaten in the league, will be the longest losing streak in 31 games since Pep Guardiola's era in April 2011.
