I really enjoyed the video and post. I want to comment without sounding negative but I must say that the majority of the foods present may be vegan but that does not always relate to healthy. Most of the foods in the video were sweets and desserts. While I know everyone loves their sugar, refined sugars are simply not healthy. Sorry about the honesty but great post anyhow.

Thanks, yes, that is a valid point. However, the deserts shown do not contain refined sugar in the sense of granulated sugar - they generally contain organic maple syrup or other similar ingredients. There were also more healthy foods there too, I just didn't happen to film them. I think the fair is partially designed to attract non vegans and to lure them in to reconsider their choices - hence the products that mimic non vegan equivalents.
I see your point. Your content was great and I do understand that there was more to the fair than what I saw. As far as sugar is concerned... sugar is sugar even if it is maple syrup or raw honey. I will not harp on this but clean healthy eating does not require sugars and all sugars lead to inflammatory responses in our body. I digress now.

Well our body cells burn Glucose, so I don't really consider all sugars to be a problem. I appreciate that a ketogenic diet puts the cells in a non Glucose burning state - but I don't have experience of that. Fruits are clearly intended foods for humans, for example, and they are obviously quite high in natural sugars.
True enough but fruits still contain all of their natural fibers and the breakdown of the sugars in fruits takes place in the duodenum not in the stomach therefore bypassing the initial first pass of the liver. Simple sugars such as those found in honey and maple syrup are processed the same as any other sugar.
