Wire kadaifi dessert making

Today, in my free time, I wanted to try making a dessert. Since I had enough time, I chose a slightly more challenging one. The dessert I made is called Tel Kadayıf. Its main ingredient is a dough that comes in fine, thread-like strands. Since making this at home is quite difficult, we usually buy it from the store.

First, we separate the strands, just like untangling something, to make them loose and even. Then, we melt margarine in the oven, and once it has cooled slightly, we mix it with the kadayıf by hand. We spread half of the mixture into a baking tray, then add crushed walnuts as a filling. After that, we layer the remaining kadayıf on top.

We bake it in a preheated oven at 180°C for 40 minutes. Once it’s done, we take it out and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, we prepare the syrup. In a pot, we add sugar to water and bring it to a boil. After boiling for 10 minutes, we add some lemon juice and let it boil for another 5 minutes before letting it cool.

When the syrup has cooled down, we slowly pour it over the baked kadayıf, making sure every part is evenly soaked. Now, our dessert is ready to be served!
