King Oyster Mushrooms
Ever heard of a King Oyster Mushroom? They truly are the kings of all mushrooms and, in my opinion, the best tasting:
You can find them at most Asian markets. I have heard of several ways to prepare them, but I prefer to just brush them with olive oil let them cook on the grill. These four mushrooms make two generous servings:
Keep flipping/turning them until they get soft; they will burn quickly and, if that happens, they’ll get tough, chewy, and gross!
When they are cooked I’ll brush them with a good bit of barbecue sauce, cut them up into about 1/2 inch slices, and then add a good bit of black pepper and seasoned salt (I know that sounds weird, but give it a shot!).
Tastes like chicken, squid, or scallops (if you must compare). Anyway, I highly recommend! I prefer this over any other vegetable or vegan product for the grill.
