Ancestry Brewery Review

in #food6 years ago (edited)

On our second to last day in Oregon, I still had not tried any beer. Of course, Portland is known for its craft beer scene, and I was anxious to find the right spot. So, around noon, my wife and I wandered into Ancestry Brewery in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland. All I can say is, we sure were not disappointed! With a huge selection of craft beer, I soon had found my perfect sampler and was on my way to try some of the most delicious beer I have ever had. I'm no beer expert, so maybe I am easy to please, but I could have put back a few pints of the Rose Goes without blinking an eye. If tasty beer weren't enough, it washed down the most impressive burger and fries I have ever tried. A Wagyu and Kobe beef burger with Tillamook cheese (an amazing cheese made a few hours away, by the coast) and garlic parmesan fries. I don't think I will soon forget this meal. About halfway through our time there, the weather outside had warmed up, so the waitress came over and opened up all the windows to the outside, letting in a beautiful breeze. Between the food, the open air, and the laid-back environment of people who had strolled in after walking and shopping around downtown, Ancestry is the place you want to hit up for an amazing and relaxed meal. They have two locations, and I would recommend that if you are ever in the area, you stop by. <3
