Everything is Better on a Stick

in #food7 years ago

To all the foodie Steemians out there! Why is it that everything tastes better on a stick? Well, amidst our travels, we’ve enjoyed food on a stick in a number of different countries. Of them, Malaysia and Thailand get top spots for the best food street food on a stick.

Call it satay or a kabob if you like, but I call it food magic; as you sit back and watch the foodstall’s speciality get flipped a couple times on a raging flame grill. It reminds me of a race where one runner passes the baton over to the next. In a way, the whole process is like a complimentary show before you stroll away with portable deliciousness.

Versatility is the beauty of food on a stick. We’ve seen everything from frogs to shrimp, simply prepared mushrooms, to whole squids. Hands down though, our favorite satay is the sweet soy marinated pork from the farmer’s market in
Phuket, Thailand. What’s yours???

Honestly, I like Indonesian satays best!

We were only in Bali and the Gilis. Where in Indonesia has the best satay? Chicken?

Looks delicious!

The hardest part was deciding on what to eat !
