Today I share this delicious and incredible recipe that I make today in the afternoon. The Venezuelan tequeños hope you like it and are encouraged to do so.
The Venezuelan tequeños are one of the most appreciated snacks in Venezuela. They are made with a dough made with flour and filled with semi-hard white cheese.
Ingredients for the preparation of the dough:
2 cups flour
5 tablespoons of margarine or butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
5 tablespoons of cold water, but I had to add a little more to soften
Other ingredients:
White semi-hard cheese (Venezuelan, feta, or any other similar) in the case that does not exist in your country.
Frying oil.
Preparation:
Put the flour in a flat place and make a volcano with it, add the egg, margarine, salt, sugar and add the water that should be cold, little by little while kneading, it should be a soft and elastic dough.
Then spread the dough with a rather thin roll, not thick, but do not break, then cut long strips of dough and with the cheese cut into taquitos more or less long, roll up the cheese taquitos trying to cover one edge with the other so that when frying the cheese does not escape. Close the ends well by pressing the dough.
Fry in hot oil at low medium temperature so that they do not burn and cook the dough well inside. Remove and place on absorbent paper.
