Good Food, Good Company; What More Can a Girl Ask?
And so Chinese New Year is now around the corner.
I believe about 70-80% of the population still travels out of the city center as most of the residence in the capital were at least once an immigrant from another state. And as usual, the annual migration starts the weekend before the great festive season, regardless of race or ethnicity becuase Malaysia is very muhibah (peaceful and collaborative) when it comes to festive seasons, packed with good food and family reunions.
So before most of us part our ways for our hometown, @zord189 made a great effort to suggest a Meetup, just a few of us startups to catch up with one another before the crazy traffic jam and overeating begins.
At first we wanted to go for Claypot Chicken Rice, 怡林, which is famous for its preserved pork sausages, salted fish and chicken combination that even @davidke20 (including my taste choosy parents) approved; but @awsomemianist and @joannewong wasn't favouring, so we head over to one of my more preferred but less crowded restaurant in Atria: Go Thai
Go Thai's menu selection is not huge or glamorous, but their taste is right on the spot for those who love rice.
Their pork are well seasoned and this is one place which has non spicy friendly selections.

Most of the time if I go for a meal there I would go for Kuey Tiow Nam Sai (clear pork broth) especially on a day you just need some comfort food, but I selected rice because of one full meal a practice that I have chosen to adopt at the moment. Besides, lunch sets are more affordable and it comes with drinks and dessert this is a great package to choose for a practical filling meal.
(also because the set serving for noodles was spicy range)
It turned out to be quite delightful, pack with starch from the rice and proteins from the pork and eggs.
The next all time favourite of mine that I will always recommend to my friends who wants to adjourn to Go Thai will be their signature snack, MOO PING, which is actually charcoal grilled pork fillet. They come in a plate of 3 and they are sweet and tender.
Those who prefer keto diet can just opt for that and maybe cucumber and you are good to go.
The lunch set also came with dessert, and this round they serve a new range which is the chilled coconut custard with water chestnut in it. It's a great refreshing feeling for hot days and it is relatively not too sweet... Although @elizacheng wasn't very used to their famous colouring of sharp green for the custard.

Overall it was short but sweet Meetup, although I didn't really get to commune with all of them because I have to rush off to resume work but it still warms my heart (no matter how I look fierce at times haha) to see this bunch of priceless special extended cyber family.
Wishing all Malaysians and abroad who are celebrating Chinese New Year a wonderful time with family and friends; and safe journey to all who are travelling across States and abroad.
Until Then
恭贺新喜,年年有余,事事顺利,财源满满
