A Taste of Heaven for Seafood Lovers!
Hello fellow Steemians! If you are finding out where to feast on the finest catch of the day this summer season, try visiting Co Jordan Bangus and Talaba Eatery located in Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu. It is a family-style seafood restaurant known for its fresh talaba and milk fish with provincial feel ambience and marine-themed interior.
Standing on the stilts on a fishpond are bamboo-made cottages for rent where customers can enjoy a good view while at the place. The rental fee depends on the cottage size and ktv availability. Some cottages are quite spacious and big enough to fit the whole family. For those who prefer to stay close to the entrance of the restaurant, there are a number of tables and benches to be used for free.
What makes it unique from others is that it allows their guests to indulge in fishing ‘bangus’ (milk fish) on the spot while devouring on some fresh, scrumptious seafood dishes. Fishing rods are available for guests to use, and they can fish from the cottage itself. The guests are not allowed to throw the fish caught back to the water as it will die. It’s either they can take it home or have it cooked in the restaurant.
They serve fresh seafood in the realest way possible at reasonable prices: straight from the pond and cook it in any way you want. They also provide retail sales of seafood that guests take home to prepare.
I have visited this place twice already and I still want to go back when I crave for seafoods. During our visits, our usual requests include buttery baked scallops, grilled ‘bangus’ (milkfish), squid adobo, garlic crab, buttered shrimps, ‘anikad’ soup and steamed ‘talaba’.
Ways in getting to Co Jordan:
You can ride a taxi or grabcar at around 150php fare from the city. A much cheaper way is riding on a jeepney at 10php from Mandaue hi-way to SM Consolacion. Be sure to get off at the tricycle parking area right before SM and ask from the tricycle driver to get you to Co Jordan.
