Being a Vegetarian is Expensive in Canada!

in #food7 years ago

Hello all,

I thought that I would share just how expensive it is to live in Canada if you are a Vegetarian. This is what I paid for 7 tomatoes. I just about sh*t!DSC_0539.JPG

I PAID $7.28 plus 5% tax. That works out to be $2.38 /lb.

Plain old Field Tomatoes. Produce is very expensive here in Canada. What's it like where you live? Let me know.

Being a Vegetarian, tomatoes are a staple for me, I probably eat close to 2-3 a day. I guess I will have to ration these for the next week.:)

Thanks for stopping by,
Tom

That's crazy! Sorry to hear that, if I had to cut down on my tomato intake I don't know if I would survive!

I feel the same way, I hope I can make it till next weekend.

Wow that doesn't look like 3 pounds of tomatoes, they must be huge.

They look average to me, maybe the scale is out. LOL

I live in South Australia and they are $2.30 per kilogram. In season.
So thats about $1.15 per lb.
We pay no tax on non processed fresh food.

Wow, that must be nice. Everything here is expensive.
