The Beginner Of Cooking Vegetable, Water Spinach And Chayote Is My Safe Try
Hello my dear friends.
First of all, i feel the need ti clarify that i am a beginner at cooking and i am still bad at plating so please understand the simplicity and plain looking my plate looks like. I will try to always improve my skill. In this post, i want to share about my cooking experience. Few days ago, i met up to do Iftar with my friends. I had a very lovely time and surprisingly one of my friend @aswita gave me a bag full of vegetables that she grow. Its right in the moment where i want to buy vegetables for my meals because my health is in a big mess right now and i have to eat healthily to balanced them out. Of course, vegetables will always be a good way to go for having a healthier life. For that, i need to thank you again my friend. You might dont know but you helped me a lot. Buying vegetables is hard for me because i have to gather all of my will to start it. But, if its given to my hands like this, it will be easier for me to continue it later.
This is the vegetables that my friend gave me. At first, i dont know what should i do with them. I am not someone that cook a lot and even if i cook, its usually a not vegetables related food. That was the reason why i want to make a post out of it. I want to start doing something nee and i will love it if that something new is good for me. I think that this kind of activity can help me to be more inspired to do other things later. I hope that this can help motivate mr to try finding a new way to consume vegetables.
Ingredients
Kangkung or Water spinach is one of my most favorite vegetables. They’re not hard to cook and its actually enjoyable when i ate them. No matter how plain i cooked them. I choose to cook water spinach for the day as the main ingredient.
This is chayote. Only water spinach might be boring so my mom told me to put the chayote in it. My mom told me that chayote will bring a little bit of sweetness that can be absorbed in the soup and in the water spinach. Since i am a total beginner, i will just follow what my mom recommended to me.
Time To Cook
First of all, i need to separate all the water spinach leaves from their stem. We dont need their stem. I dont know if we can use the stem for another purpose but i remembered that when i was just a little kid, we always took the stem to play with friends. We will chopped and pretend to cooked them. I forgot to take a picture of it but i cut the chayote into 4 pieces.
After separating the leaves, now is the time to wash them clean.
Boiled water till its really boiled.
Only after the water is boiled then we put the water spinach and chayote inside. It didnt take long to cook them but i let them even after i turn off the fire because i need to chayote to be more soft and so the sweetness from the chayote can seep inside the water spinach more. In this time, i put a little bit of salt too.
This is the end result. To be honest, i was surprised at how little they ended up. I thought that i cook enough water spinach but its actually only 2 or 3 mouthful.
