The Mind Switch- In brief

in #food8 years ago (edited)

Hi, everyone!
Thank you again to everyone that read my first post :-)
Recently, I've been hosting many events and seminars to talk about the reasons why diets don't work, with many asking 'what do you propose instead?' And this is what i answer everytime.

Each continent has its own native fruits and vegetables (and even animals) that create a unique style of cuisine for that continent. In the past few decades, globalization has led to an expansion of fast food chains and imported food products which have resulted in people's diets changing. You will find healthy foods, unhealthy foods and a list of foods that the local governmental health department recommends for optimal health. Yet in each continent, they all have something in common. They have underweight, overweight and regular weight people who live there. So, if every country has fat, thin and regular sized people who live there, and they all have fast food chains with each one growing fresh fruit and vegetables locally, then why do we keep going on about the diet being the problem? If there was one diet in the world that was the perfect diet, don't you think that we would all be eating that by now?
If we stop looking at the food, what else do you think could be the problem with the overweight, underweight and regular weight people? Have you ever thought that each one of these groups of people all have a different relationship with food and exercise. Usually, an underweight and an overweight person have a very bad relationship with food and exercise whereas a regular weight (a non-dieter) has a very good relationship with food and exercise. So the answer to the question 'what do you propose?' - I propose changing your mindset before changing your diet.
I realised that we cannot lose weight from dieting, however, we can change the way we think and feel about food. I started to research the connections between the mind, the stomach and our emotions which led me into creating The Mind Switch. So in brief, here is some information as to what I believe will help the world's population to change the way that they think and feel and about food.

Before I introduce The Mind Switch, here are some statistics which I found to give you an example of the current state of obesity.

The weight loss industry is huge, with the annual revenue of the U.S weight loss industry over $61 billion. That means a lot of businesses are making huge profits, as 108million people are on diets in the U.S alone at any one time. Weight watchers are clearly the dominant company among weight-loss centers and programs, having an income of $1.2 billion each year. It is at least three times larger than its primary competitors; Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig. Weight Watchers have over 8 million website visitors per month and 1.72 million paid online subscribers. A recent US government survey found that 50% American adults felt that their weight was too high and that 80% of the respondents intended to start a diet or fitness program within the next 6 months to correct their weight problem.

How Can I Change This?
I wish to significantly reduce the percentage of obese and overweight people globally by using my course, online group chats, clinics and a through face to face groups with trainers. I will be setting up a non-profit, with all profits going to charitable causes which help to lower the levels of obesity (either start up a new foundation or I am happy to join with an existing foundation). The vision came from my own mother being overweight her entire life. She was made to feel fat, guilty and lazy for consuming certain foods which I knew wasn’t true. How little the world knows about obesity and the addiction of food chemicals is shocking and I decided that I had to do something about it, this is where my research began. I have developed a course which enables them to learn and understand where they went wrong without feeling guilty, lazy or fat. I have proved (along with many other researchers) that we cannot lose weight when the mind feels deprived or starved. I have more information on this at my events if you are interested.

The Mind Switch Explained
It is a brain training course to help you to make better choices for a healthier, happier life. We know that the mind is a powerful thing and in the end, regardless of what diet that you are on, your mind will make the final decision as to what you consume. I feel like we’ve been looking in the wrong place for an answer to weight loss. We’ve spent years looking into different diets, claiming that a certain one will work for us all and in the end they never do. But how can that be?
To start, we all grow different produce, so whether you’re an American, European, African, Asian or from another area of the world, you will consume completely different foods from each of these countries or regions. And within each of these countries that are living off of a completely different diet to the rest of the world, you will see people that are overweight, regular weight and underweight. We can see from this that food isn’t the problem. So what is?
The difference between an overweight person and a regular person is how they think and feel when they exercise or consume food. An overweight person will most likely go to the gym less because they do not enjoy the pain that the exercise causes. Whilst a regular weight person may feel that running three times a week is a perfectly normal thing to do. A person who is overweight doesn’t understand when to stop eating and allows their brain to decide on what it wants which is usually high-calorie foods whilst a regular weight person may enjoy all of her favourite things but in smaller doses.
These are merely examples of some minor differences between the healthy and unhealthy people and the list could go on and on. What they all have in common is the emotional attachment that they have with food or exercise.
I started to research how our mind controls what we consume, the relationship between our stomach and the brain and also how we can undo the bad choices which we have already made - this led me to create The Mind Switch.

The Complete Course

Stage 1: Undo all of the bad habits.
-Unit 1 Eat & Enjoy
-Unit 2 The Body

Stage 2: Replace the bad habits with good habits.
-Unit 3 Natures Guide
-Unit 4 Science Behind Fat Burning

Stage 3: Reassurance, positivity, and motivation.
-Unit 5 Excuses
-Unit 6 Energy
-Unit 7 The Final Lesson

Each stage has 2 Units and a final unit at the end of the stages with each unit containing four to five lessons.
This is brain training program that will allow a dieter to retrain their brain to that of a non-dieter.(someone who doesn't have a bad relationship with food or exercise).
