Food and Health Awareness | Barley with its Amazing Health Benefits
Hey folks @cryptokraze here with my new Blog about Food and Health awareness in which I will highlight the health benefits associated with Barley. We should add variety of foods in our diet because they have bio-active components in them that help in preventing many diseases and provide other health benefits.
Health Benefits of Barley
The health benefits associated with barley are as under:
Keeps Intestine Healthy
Barley is an excellent source of fiber and can make your body nontoxic. Its feed is rich in dietary fiber and can be used as a source of energy for our large intestine-sensitive bacteria. These bacteria ferment fiber content of barley and form butyrate, which is the main source of energy for intestinal cells. This is very effective for maintaining a healthy colon.
Protects Against Gallstones
Barley effectively helps women avoid developing gallstones. Because it is rich in insoluble fiber, it can actually help you reduce bile acid secretion, thereby increasing insulin sensitivity and lowering triglyceride levels. An article in the American Journal of Gastroenterology states that women who consume dietary fiber have a 17% lower risk of gallstones than other women.
Prevents Osteoporosis
The phosphorus and copper content of barley ensures the overall health of the skeleton. If you have osteoporosis, this can be your natural remedy. We know that its juice contains 11 times more calcium than milk. The manganese content of barley is linked to the B-complex vitamins, which maintains the general state of health.
Skin Care
Selenium is a present in barley, which protects the skin's elasticity by protecting it from damage caused by free radicals and stress.
Protects Heart Health
Atherosclerosis is a condition in which the arterial wall thickens due to coagulation or deposition of fatty substances such as cholesterol. Barley contains niacin (vitamin B3), which reduces cholesterol and lipoproteins and reduces cardiovascular risk factors.Postmenopausal women with hypertension, hypercholesterolemia or cardiovascular disease are particularly recommended at least 6 times a week.
Weight Management and Satiety
By acting as a " bulking agent " in the digestive system, adequate fiber intake is often considered an important factor in weight loss. Dietary fiber helps increase satiety and reduce appetite, making people more satisfied. This can help reduce overall caloric intake.
I've heard barley water is great for getting rid of the "heat" in the body, thus reducing eczema or inflammation in the body. Have you heard anything about this?
