Teriyaki Noodles with Salmon

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Today I’m going share a recipe that‘s healthy, low in carb and calories. And yes I did say noodles in the subject but we are going to be using Shirataki noodles or miracle noodles But if you don’t have those you can use any noodles you like but I’d recommend the thick egg noodles.
If you find yourself scratching your head wondering what is Shirataki noodles? You click on the link here or on the link above.
I found the noodles at one of the Asian grocery store. You might be able to find them at a health food store as well.
Let’s talk a little bit about teriyaki. Teriyaki is actually a cooking technique in Japanese means broiled or grilled.
Most japanese use the teriyaki sauce with fish but for us North America we usually used the sauce with chicken or beef.
I also have a post for DIY Teriyaki sauce. It’s very easy anybody can do it if you want to make it from scratch. If you chose to buy it off the shelves from the grocery store, you can do that too.
Lets begins with the ingredients for the teriyaki noodles.

The noodles and mushroom can be substituted with any kind of noodles you’d like so does the mushroom.
These are seasonings
You can begin by adding oil into a wok on a medium high heat.
Then add garlic, carrots and onion into the wok.
When carrots started to get soften you can put in teriyaki sauce.
Then you can add shirataki noodles or the noodles of your choice.
If you choose to use shirataki noodles please prep the noodles as instructed in my shirataki post.
Toss the noodles in the sauce and vegetables for a few mins just to warm them up.
Lastly add green onion into wok.
Your teriyaki noodles is ready to serve.
For the meat.
I chose to put my salmon under the broiler in my oven but if you want to BBQ yours please do so.
I brushed the salmon (or any meat of your choice) with my homemade teriyaki sauce. Then place under the broiler for 5 mins at 450°f.
Place cooked salmon on top of the noodles and serve!
