Birthday Cake Smoothie with Recipe from My Food Blog
Like many parents, I am finding things to do to occupy my kids this week while they are home from school on Christmas break. In addition, my refrigerator seems to have a revolving door as they constantly are looking in there for something! Earlier today they wanted something sweet, so I recreated an old recipe of mine (one that I actually posted on Steemit earlier this summer) and made them Birthday Cake Smoothies. They are both healthy and delicious! Mom for the win!
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup of coconut milk or vanilla almond milk
2 bananas
3/4 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
2 tablespoons of cookie butter
2-3 ice cubes
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of almond extract
A pinch of sea salt
Optional: Sprinkles and Whipped Cream for garnish
Instructions:
Add all of the ingredients into a blender, except for the sprinkles and whipped cream.
Blend on medium for 2-3 minutes.
Pour into glasses and garnish with sprinkles and whipped cream if desired
