Making a Healthy Smoothie 🥰

in #food2 months ago

Hi, do you like smoothies?

Do you have a favourite smoothie recipe? Please share some below!

I recently made a smoothie I really enjoyed, I'm trying to be a bit healthier lately and want to try have a smoothie every 2 days!

I didn't really follow a recipe for this, I just gathered some things around the kitchen I thought would go well.

The "Recipe"

I used: 2 bananas, (soaked overnight) chia seeds, cup or so of oat milk, and frozen mango.

This made enough for 2 portions! I had some I saved for later but next time I think I'd have it on 2 separate days, instead of having it all on the same day, that was too much for me lol.

I broke apart 2 bananas, I wasn't really sure how many I needed so maybe I went a bit overboard? Not sure! These organic bananas were bought from a Sainsburys and they cost £1.80 for 6 bananas, this is roughly 11 STEEM.

I put a desert spoon amount of chia seeds into this cup and soaked it in oat milk overnight, I eyeballed it so I didn't really use exact measurements. I don't think they really soaked enough? I'm not sure, next time I need to measure it more accurately I think.

I also got these chia seeds from Sainsburys, this cost me £1.25 for 150g- which is roughly 8 STEEM.

Some of the chia seeds did expand from the soaking but the rest were in a clump. So I think I did something wrong.

The frozen mangoes are a really great ingredient in this smoothie! It adds so much flavour, but it can overpower any other flavour even with a small amount of mangoes! Luckily I love the taste of mangoes so I didn't mind. I bought these frozen mangoes from Asda, they were £2.25 for 500g, this is roughly 14 STEEM.

I used a cup or so of oat barista milk as it was what I had in the fridge at the time. I used Vemondo Barista Oat milk, bought at a Lidl store! The cost of this is £1.39 for 1Litre, this is roughly 8.34 STEEM.

I held the mixing button down for a good 20 seconds at a time or so. I did this at least 5 times, which worked perfectly!

Finished!

I really enjoyed making this smoothie, it was so refreshing, delicious and healthy!

I would love to try and make more smoothies using other ingredients like ginger, spinach or beetroots. So I'll be looking into that and I'll try gather more ingredients for next time.

I'm sorry for a shorter post today- I'm a bit ill!

Thank you for reading! :)
