Hey! there! steemit!

While the main idea of this post is to explain why lab-grown meat is important, the underlying idea is to empower Y'all with the knowledge of science.

lets start!
We are a generation of technologically advanced creatures, who constantly thrive to use these advancements for the greater good and to do the right thing, at least that's the idea, but what about meat? is animal breeding and slaughter the right thing to do? Some of us simply say how does it matter? I asked a meat eater, and he said, and I quote, "how does it matter?", others argue when animals don't care about doing the right thing, why should we?

Yes, but they're also not as smart and definitely not on top of the food chain, like us, and with great power, you don't necessarily have to kill and eat your inferiors.

lets face it, you don't care about nutrition, you only eat it for the taste, If you eat bacon, you know im right. Don't you think its too much of a coincidence that you eat only animals that aren't cute? Wake up! people!

so why not still eat meat without all the killing involved?
I know, lab-grown meat is not a familiar concept for everyone to comprehend, but it's really very simple, take muscle tissue from an animal, separate fat cells, and let the muscle tissue grow into high quality, fat free meat.

In 2013, a star food critic ate a lab-grown hamburger and said "close, but not quite juicy", but in 2016, Memphis meats invited volunteers to taste their lab grown chicken, and folks who ate it said that the chicken tasted like, well, chicken.

next thing in your head, at what cost?
first lab grown burger cost around $3 million, per patty. well, good things come with a cost, and there's a heavy price we need to pay..... or maybe not, current versions cost just $11 and will eventually get cheaper with more consumption.

Now how is this important to you?
just by not breading animals
-you'll save 70% of planet's fresh water
-use 28X less land
-cut down on 1/4th global green house gas emissions
-ultimately saving the planet and solving world hunger.

If you really think about it, this is what you want to be known for, a generation of innovators with fidget spinners, that does the right thing.

Sort:

I eat bacon and yes it tastes great but if the company who provides it switched to lab grown, and its still good. Id be happy still, besides I'd probs be too busy practicing some sweet fidget spinner tricks to notice!
