Beautiful flowers. The top one looks like it is from the Lily family. The last one I have seen before but cannot place it. Nice post.

I like nature, but I'll be the first to admit I know virtually nothing about different flower types. I did a google image search of a yellow lily and I would say you nailed that one.

Considering you are into this topic, if you are ever in the Vancouver area during the summer, then you would most definitely like the VanDusen botanical garden. It is quite the place to spend an afternoon.

Sounds like a beautiful garden. I have not been to a botanical garden in a long time.

I went there first with my father who was visiting Vancouver and then again with a girlfriend. I had never considered going to a botanical garden, but I was definitely impressed both times. Today wouldn't be the nicest day to go, however, since there is plenty of smoke in the air from the many forest fires in BC that are burning right now. There is a weird smoky haze that isn't so nice. Thanks!

The smoke is some of the worst I have seen here in north Idaho. I have had to wear a quality face mask that I use in my wood-shop just to do outside chores. Spoke with someone in Spokane and it is pretty bad there too. As long as the fires stay at a good distance I will deal with the smoke. Have lots of physical work to do outside, but not with the smoke...Time for the Fall rains to clean things up.

From the golf driving range where I work I can normally see the city skyline very clearly along with the mountains in the distance. Today it looks like a scene from some dreary post-apocalyptic movie. With no rain in the forecast, it will probably stay like this for days to come. I can imagine that people with asthma or other breathing problems are not having a good day.

Sounds like we have the same smoky mess. I have a small mountain with a view from behind my barn. Cannot see it today and barley make out the nearest foothills. I have allergies and have been taking meds to keep things under control.

Thankfully, I don't have any breathing problems. I do have another small problem, however. My high-tech golf studio has a wall that opens to give access to the driving range. It is open all day long. So, all my screens, computers, launch monitor and cameras are getting covered every day in a fine layer of ash.

That also means that I'm breathing lots of that stuff in. Every day at the range right now is like being a heavy smoker I guess. Oh well, it should clear-up eventually.

Good luck with your allergies!
