The Danube is flooding cities such as Vienna and Budapest...

It has been raining a lot recently, and that is causing a lot of trouble right now all across Europe. Many cities are in trouble, and for example Vienna, is suffering as they have been forced to close down several metro lines, and some districts even lost access to electricity due to the flood. In Budapest, the water level is supposed to reach its peak next week, but already now they are preparing nearly 1,000,000 sand bags to protect the Margaret Island, the legendary tram line number 2 is closing parts of the line, and I do believe that many of the boats traveling on the Danube will be forced to stop because they will be unable to travel under the bridges.

Seen from the bright side, if you visit any of these cities, you can make photos that you normally cannot make. The current flood will be the heaviest hitting Budapest in more than ten years, so you do not often get a chance like this to look at the Danube flooding in a similar way.

At the same time, people are working hard to protect Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and lots of other cities along the Danube and other rivers in Europe, so we pray and hope that they will be able to protect both human lives and buildings everywhere.
