in #fitness7 years ago (edited)

I will now award 1 SBD for every 10,000 honest reps you submit to my Daily 100+ Rep Fitness Challenge. I will honor all prior reps done before today. I will revisit this reward structure as the team grows over time.

As a favor, please read a very personal post I just wrote so you can learn more about why I'm doing this. It'll make sense at the end, so thank you very much if you can. POST LINK

The Challenge: At least 100 honest reps of exercise every day. No excuses. No bullsh*t. Just actions, positivity, and results. Only post AFTER your reps are done.

  • If you can't contribute yet, try to eat natural foods and stay well hydrated without the sugar for now.

  • It's ok to start with a number you're comfortable with if you can't reach 100. You choose what exercises to do.

  • 30 minutes of dedicated brisk walking, running, or SPINNING (new) can count as 100 reps if you're unable to lift or need to rest.

My Daily Challenge Completed - 101 reps:

-75 Bar Calf Raises (75 pounds)
-26 Bar Shrugs (75 pounds)

Daily Assessment: I could really feel the 100 squats from yesterday in my hamstrings. In an effort to hit my legs once more and preserve my upper body for tomorrow, I mainly did calf raises, which were also a little worn out from yesterday. I wanted to do 100, but I was starting to cramp up as I approached 75.

Feedback from @mightpossibly:

"I find it deeply satisfying to do these reps, which is a big deal. I've always hated the gym and prefer to exercise at home. But I've lacked the discipline to do it. It sort of feels like I have gym buddies now, without the hassle of going to the gym."

Please see my first post linked below for my motivation, the challenge background, rules, and details for the Steemit Silver Coin prize! It's also got some personal stuff about why I'm doing this, so it could be a good motivator.

Welcome to the grind!! Excellent contribution. I counted 206 reps. It takes 30 mins of dedicated walking, running or spinning to register 100 reps, fyi. Not a bad first splash at all.

Cheers, looking forward to the challenge

Daily challenge complete. 627 reps. Post coming tomorrow

More horsepower than your truck.

😂😂 you may not think that when you see the post

Daily Challenge completed - yesterday
Developing both mind and body 215 reps

   Physical

100 reps - Walking 30 minutes X 2 - includes down and up elevation of 300 ft
10 reps - yoga asanas - 10 min X 2
5 reps - pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) 5 min X 2

    Mental

100 reps = 1+ hours X 2 Transcendental Meditation and advanced TM-Sidhi (morning and evening)

At nearly 70 years old, you're making some of us look lazy!! It doesn't do your workout any justice, but great job!

Thanks @Steemmatt. It comes pretty easy. The meditation, asanas, etc I have been doing for years so it is a part of my life. I live at a retreat center which is in the woods in a rural, hilly/mountainous area. I purposely chose to live at the top of the hill so I would have to walk down to the dining hall. This is how I am forced to not be lazy and get my minimum 30 min. walks in. :-) And then I do some more when there is time.

Daily Challenge Complete! Total Reps- 249 reps

Today was a bit different for me, as I jumped into a crossfit workout...

  • Stairs - 10 floors x 3
  • TRX Horizontal Pullups - 20 x 2
  • Lat Pulls - 8 x 2
  • Situps - 20 x 2
  • Weighted Lunges - 8 (per leg) x3
  • Pullups - 10 x 3
  • Turkish Getups 3 x 3
  • Leg Raises 10 x 3
  • Lateral Bounds 10 x 3

The cardio from these stair runs absolutely destroyed me.. it's been a while since I've felt a good lung burn like that lol

I felt your pain. I did squats and calf raises the past two workouts and was cramping up like crazy/had muscle twitches when trying to record on the drums today. Workouts like these will show you results in no time.

Challenge Completed - 836 reps

Haha RIP my streak :)
I think Steemit Meetup is a worthy reason though ;)

Challenge Completed - 200 reps
50 Push Ups
50 Air Squats
50 Crunches
50 KBS

Don't look now, 9 straight days in so far. No more Dad-bod worries now.

Well now I know what an air squat is. I've called them squats with no weight for... forever.

I think I will call them Kniebeuge in the future. Just to bring some german in here :D

Daily Challenge Completed - 101 reps:
-75 Bar Calf Raises (75 pounds)
-26 Bar Shrugs (75 pounds)

Reps going up and holding. Nice job.

Not late at all. It's late here on EST time, but I'm a vampire and avoid daylight.
