Are you selling fish ?

As a child I used to love fish, but this also meant I had to go to the smelly fish market with my mom to buy fish. Ironically after many years I quit eating fish because of a fish I ate, I had severe food poisoning.

As a 5 year old the first time I went to the fish market I wondered why do people want to buy dead smelly fish. The fish market was full of buyers. And every seller trying to tell the customers how good their fish were. Yes the fish were dead. The buyers loved to buy the dead fish. I only figured why later.

Strangely as I grew up and started to work in corporates somehow it reminded me of a fish market. Everyone trying to sell dead and smelly fish. Each one trying to outsell the other.

I realised I was only selling myself !

Lots of people would throng these markets. I was also good at selling fish, till one day I realised how sel-fish I was.

The fish is only a metaphor.

I quit selling fish a few years back.
