Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah, everyone is fine, I am also fine, Alhamdulillah. In order to go on in life, many times you have to be sick, many times you have to be in an accident. It's a kind of different kind of blessing. It is very difficult to say when there is any sorrow and what happiness is in someone's forehead. Suddenly, in any way we have an accident, for some reason our blood comes out. All this has organized a beautiful competition, dear brother. At the beginning of writing, I invited some of my friends, @patjewell @irawandedy and @wilmer1988 brother..

Share your any experience of your life, in which you faced the emergency that could be handled by your own only if you know the basic first response skills.

It is important for every person to have an idea about first aid because we can face any accident at any time in our life. Giving quick first aid to the victim during the accident can save the person from death, so it is important for every person to have an idea about first aid. There are so many such incidents in my life and I have experienced them.

Once a close relative's small child drowned in the water, the child was in the water for about 5 minutes, when he was taken out of the water, he was senseless, at that moment I first gave CPR to the child and pressed the baby's stomach to get the water out of his mouth. In a few minutes the child came back to self-consciousness. I have faced such a situation once again

There was a relative of mine, he was a patient of high blood pressure, suddenly he started breathing heavily and his whole body started turning blue, then I started giving him CPR for normal breathing and immediately called the emergency services for him, after a while the ambulance from the emergency department came and took him to the hospital. It is important for a first aider to know the basic skills.

Imagine you are walking back home, when you witness a road traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle, and the motorcyclist is lying on the road, not moving. There’s some bleeding from his leg, and he appears to be unconscious. You being the first responder, how will you manage this scenario?

If I see a person in an accident like this on the road, I will take some action. The steps are as follows:-

  • Self-protection:- First I have to make sure that I am safe, that is, I have to ensure my safety. That's why I have to check the traffic, check if any other cars are coming to the accident site. If a car comes after that, those cars should be signaled not to come forward.

  • In this case, I will call my country's hotline number 999 or call the emergency ambulance number:- so that the injured person can be taken to the hospital quickly and treated.

  • Initial checkup of the injured person:- Since the injured person is unconscious, I will first check whether he is breathing. If the person is not breathing, I will give him CPR. If the injured person breathes after giving CPR. Then I will try to take him to the hospital quickly.

  • Attempt to control bleeding:- Since the injured person is bleeding, he should try to stop bleeding quickly. For this reason, first of all, I will hold a hard thick cloth lightly in the place of bleeding of the injured person. So that the bleeding stops.

  • Giving courage and morale to the injured person:- I will be with the injured person and when he regains consciousness, I will give him courage, so that he does not lose morale. Because if he loses morale, he will become more weak.

And that's how I'm going to handle this scene.

Draw or Create an engaging illustration/flowchart of DRABC protocol (Try to be creative and don't forget to add your username on the illustration)

The protocols of DARBC are:-

D meaning:- (denger.) The first thing I need to do is make sure I'm in danger. And whether the people around me are safe.

R meaning:- (response,) whether the victim is responding to the accident or not. Whether you are breathing, or if you are conscious.

A meaning:- (airway,) if the injured person is able to breathe properly. If you do not breathe properly, try to correct the injured person's breathing normally.

B meaning:- (breathing,) To keep an eye on whether the injured person is having any trouble breathing. and providing CPR if there is difficulty breathing.

C meaning:- (circulation,) Check whether the injured person's heart rate and pressure are correct. And the bleeding has to stop.

QuestionWhat the Student Did WellAreas for ImprovementGrading
Question 1Shared compelling personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of first response skills in life-threatening situations. While the experiences were impactful, further detail on the steps taken during CPR and the child's recovery would enhance your response. Consider explaining how you ensured the child's airway was clear and any specific techniques used in your intervention. Additionally, discuss what different techniques and steps you would have taken if you were a first responder at that time.[Grade: 1.5]
Question 2Provided a thorough approach to managing a road traffic accident scene using the DRABC protocol, demonstrating awareness of safety and the importance of calling emergency services.Clarify the process for checking the injured person's breathing and circulation. Mention specific techniques for controlling bleeding and emphasize that the casualty should not be moved unless necessary. Additionally, ensure to explain the importance of not removing objects obstructing the airway. Remember not to call the emergency services by yourself; instead, ask someone from the public to do so, and keep yourselves busy in assisting the casualty.[Grade: 1.0]
Question 3Created a clear and informative representation of the DRABC protocol, showcasing creativity and a good understanding of the steps involved.Excellent work on the visual representation. However, consider adding more discreet locations in the design to help maintain clarity and focus on the information presented. Also, in airway management, the passage of the airway and any potential obstruction should be assessed rather than just checking for breathing. Similarly, in response, the consciousness of the casualty is evaluated, not solely their breathing.[Grade: 2.0]
Question 4Listed essential emergency contact numbers for Bangladesh, which is a crucial aspect of first response planning.Include a brief description of each number's purpose for better clarity. Adding contact numbers for additional services, such as mental health support, crisis hotlines, women's helpline, national suicide prevention, and natural disaster rescue, would make the list more comprehensive and valuable.[Grade: 0.7]
Question 5Demonstrated engagement and understanding by attempting the quiz, showing a proactive approach to learning.Great job! You answered 10 out of 10 questions correctly. Keep up the consistent efforts in the next assignment.[Grade: 2.5]

General Feedback:
Overall, you have shown a strong understanding of first response protocols and the importance of effective communication during emergencies. Your personal experiences added depth to your responses. Focus on enhancing your details in areas such as CPR and emergency contact numbers, as they are vital for clarity and effectiveness in your future work.
