Hello community. It's my first review so please don't be rude.

"Annihilation" is a multi-layered production created by Alex Gardland. He is a director and screenwriter known for such films as "Ex Machina" or "28 days later". This unconventional genre mix, in which we can find countless references to literary or film works. One thing is certain, it will be difficult to pass this production indifferently.

Annihilation is a film focused on exploration. Five women take part in it, each of them specializes in a different profession. The place to which they go, at first glance, looks like the result of ecological disaster, but the reason is something quite different ...
The main character of the production is Lena (Natalie Portman), who is a biologist. She wants to know what happened to her husband who was in zone x. Well, the heroine (Oscar Isaac) was missing several months earlier during the trip to this secret place.

The first element to be mentioned is the amazing visual setting of the aforementioned title. Zone X pulsates and glows with colors, seems to be closed behind the cover of a gigantic soap bubble, which in a way invites the observer, promising visual miracles. Zone X is not only a place immersed in a beautiful flora, it is also home to many species of animals. Another asset of the work is music, which builds the atmosphere of the film to the same extent as the visual elements.

As for the acting, this is quite a good level, although some statements of the heroines seem to be heavily forced, Nothing here will be the talent of Natalie Portman or Jennifer Jason Leigh - it is through this type of speech from time to time we think that the film at least drags mercilessly.

Based on the motifs (and not a true adaptation) of Jeff VanderMer's novel Annihilation, certainly not an easy movie. It is a slow cinema, requiring concentration from the viewer, and in many cases even a second approach. Probably a lot of people will bounce off Garland's production like a sparkling wall, and those who will draw in this world, intrigue and make you reflect - anyway, at the end, you will leave more questions than answers. Only from the subjective assessment depends on whether you consider this a disadvantage or an advantage. I strongly insist on the other one.
