Dial M for Murder - Lets talk film / The inner mechanics of a perfect crime

in #film7 years ago

A professional who tennis player Tony Wendice, who is married to Margot, she is really wealthy and Tony discovers her affair. So, he decides to murder her to take the revenge and make sure that her wealth stays with him. He plots a detailed murder plan and he starts executing it. This is how Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder"unfolds itself. The movie is one of the best crime films ever made and as we all know Hitchcock knows the craft of making the audience sit on the edge of their seat throughout the film.

The character played of Tony Wendice played by Ray Milland is very interesting. He is very intelligent and he knows that he made his calculations right. The way he tricks Charles Swann to agree to murder his wife is really amazing. Its one of the best scenes in this movie and you have to watch it to experience it.

What makes this movie different from others is the fact that it is working backwards. Usually in any crime films the murder or the event takes place first and the story will be about finding the murderer. But, here the story shows the point of view of the murderer and the process of how he plans it. This is really interesting to watch.

The movie is really an unpredictable roller-coaster ride. When you almost know what is going to happen, Hitchcock does his magic and blows away all your expectations, which turns out to be better that what you were expecting.
