The children of Mars are obsessed with television shows beamed to them from Earth, and in particular ones that show the joy of Christmas and wonder of Santa Claus. So an expedition head to Earth, first they kidnap two children so they may show the Martians how to get to Santa, and then they kidnap the man himself., taking all three back to the red planet.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is regularly included in list of the worst films ever made, including The Fifty Worst Films of All-time (and How they got that Way) and 100 Most Amusingly Bad Movies Ever Made complied by Razzie founder John Wilson for the book The Official Razzie Movie Guide. It was also featured in a 1988 episode of Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and an episode of Elvira’s Movie Macabre.

However it is also a landmark in the Christmas movie landscape as it’s the first recorded appearance of Mrs. Claus on film
